The Marantz PMD661 is essentially an update to their popular PMD660 - what we named the "Recording Brick" because of its chunky shape and size. Whilst the PMD661 is a similar shape, it is just a little bit smaller that its predecessor, so not such a brick after all. And it is claimed to be more robust too. The Marantz PMD661 incorporates a wide range of technical advances and convenience features that help it excel in virtually any application. Big enough to accommodate dual XLR microphones and light enough for handheld use, the PMD661 offers good recording quality in most locations.
