Rycote 055207 15cm SGM Foam & Windjammer (19/22) Suitable for shotgun microphones with slots no further than 15cm from front of mic rycote_055207 / RYC055207. The Shotgun Mic Foam is a discreet, slip-on foam windshield, designed to protect the microphone head against light wind and pop noise. Made of durable, high quality open-cell acoustic foam, these windshields offer up to 20 dB wind noise attenuation, whilst keeping high frequency loss to a minimum.

Engineered exclusively for Rycote, this high quality foam also provides excellent resistance against the damaging effects of moisture and UV light.

The Shotgun Mic Foam Windshields are supplied with a corresponding Rycote Windjammer for a further 12 dB wind noise attenuation.

The perfect solution for improving exterior wind attenuation for your microphone. This standard modular windshield, with a body length of 260mm, is designed to provide up to 25dB of wind protection. Made from a flexible grey plastic netting tube with a special screening material attached, this windshield is both lightweight and durable. The twist and turn locking end caps ensure easy, rattle-free and secure fastening. The unique slide-on/slide-off system allows for easy removal of the microphone and suspension, making it convenient for on-the-go recording. The outside diameter of the Mono Windshields is 100mm, while the stereo windshields are 145mm, with the length determined by the microphone used.

The Softie Mount, used with the Softie Windshield provides a fast, flexible and cost effective solution for ENG use and forms a robust and practical windshield (70mm in diameter) which can be effectively used without the mount in handhels operation mode.

Softie Windshield
The Softie Windshield is a slip on open cell foam, with an integral fitted fur cover. The Softie will reduce wind noise and protect your microphone, and is the standard world-wide in TV. Available in a large range of sizes to fit most popular microphones.

Softie Mount
The mount is a simple but effective. The mount comes in 3 sizes, dependant on the diameter of your microphone. The attachment below the mount is then determined by the intended use of the mount, for example Pistol grip handle, boom pole adaptor or the Multi Mount for use on a camcorders hotshoe.

The main component of the Softie mount is a one piece rubber (actual material: EPDM) diaphragm shockmount. This unit is extremely robust, and has been tested in all environment conditions to ensure it performs.

The Softie Mount comes in three sizes, depending on which microphone being used.
Small Hole 19-20mm diameter
Medium Hole 21-22mm diameter
Large Hole 24-25mm diameter

The mounts are 58mm diameter x 56mm long, and support short to medium length shotgun microphones. Please use the ''Quick Product Finder'' to see what size you need for your mic. The Softie mount will only fit shotgun microphones, which are cylindrical in shape (the same diameter though their whole length). We can not mount microphones that taper, with the Softie mount.

The longest Softie Windshields have an internal bore of 32cm (12-1/2'') - Example:AKG CK68 or Audio Technica AT815b. These are the longest microphones we would recomend using a Softie Mount for, simply because the mount is flexible & cannot support longer mics. For longer mics, we would only recomend a Full Windshield System, and a Modular suspension.

Made to offer the wind attenuation properties of a full sized windshield in a much smaller package, the BBG Windshields are designed to slip onto the body of the microphone. This allows the microphone to be hand-held or shock-mounted with a Lyre suspension.

Perfect for short microphones, the BBG Windshield are suitable for low-profile boom applications as well as for use in hand-held operations and interviews. They are widely used for microphones with bulbous ends and ORTF microphone pairs, where the maximum head diameter is 80 mm.

The windshield is constructed of the same material as the full size modular windshields, but rather than clipping to a microphone suspension, the Windshield is mounted directly on the microphone, by a grommet gripping the microphone body. The microphone is pushed through the grommet, to completely enclose the microphone capsule.

The Windshield consists of two halves, which can be separated, to fit microphones with a ball-head or tapered body from inside the windshield. For additional wind protection a furry Windjammer cover is available.

The Hi Wind Cover is designed to fit the Modular Windshield Kit to offer up to 35dB in wind noise reduction. It is manufactured from a durable black fleece material and is easy to fit in the field by simply sliding it over the Windshield basket, secured in place with Velcro pads.

The Super-Softie® with our material 3D-Tex™ combines superb wind noise reduction with excellent acoustic transparency.

Excellent noise reduction and weather durability

The Super-Softie® retains the excellent wind noise reduction of a conventional cavity windshield but allies it to a novel aerodynamic shape and surface structure, and to a material - 3D-Tex™ - which combines excellent acoustic transparency with superb attenuation of wind noise. It has no rigid internal structure, so causes virtually no polar pattern distortion and is extremely robust in challenging environments such as news-gathering.

If it becomes rain-soaked it can be squeezed out and shaken dry very quickly; if it becomes coated with dust it can be rinsed quickly without affecting its performance.

The shape & structure of the Super Softie® allow it to reduce wind noise at extreme LF and infrasonic frequencies - where the greatest wind energy lies - more efficiently than previous designs.
